Mit dem iPhone kann man zwar schon genug machen, Infrarot ist allerdings nicht seine Stärke. Nach dem RedEye, der den Kopfhörerausgang benutzt und ihrem anderen System, das über WiFi funktioniert gibt es jetzt noch eine dritte Lösung dafür, die widerum den Dockanschluss nimmt. Die Firma New Potato (ja, merkwürdiger Name) steckt ihr Dongle genau da ein und lässt somit alles in der Wohnung fernbedienen was auf Infrarotsignale hört. In ihrer Datenbank haben sie immerhin 14.000 Produkte. Der Preis von 78,99 Dollar ist allerdings (im Vergleich zu einer üblichen Universalremote) wirklich nicht zu unterschätzen.

Wie wir alle wissen hat Samsung ein neues Smartphone OS (Bada) und eine neue Touchscreen-Technologie (Super AMOLED) in der Mache. Auf der Bada-Seite von Samsung heisst es: "on 2.14 a new mobile from Samsung is born. See it first in Barcelona.". Ein kurzer Blick auf den Quelltext der Seite zeigt dann auch schnell die Worte "Bada", "Smartphone" und "AMOLED". Kurz: ihr könnt drauf wetten dass Samsung am 14. Februar auf der MWC in Barcelona ein 3,3-Zoll, 800 x 400 Pixel Super AMOLED Touchscreen Bada Phone bringt (das ja den Gerüchten nach eh für nächste Woche fällig ist).

P.S.: Das Bild oben stammt von GSM Arena. Obwohl sich die Seite dazu ausschweigt, was das auf der linken Seite ist, läuft darauf auf jeden Fall Samsungs Bada UI und wenn man sich das tiefe Schwarz ansieht, könnte es ein AMOLED sein. Mal sehen!

DIe F.A.T. (Free Art & Technology)-Gruppe, die sich der Entwicklung offener Technologien und Medien verschrieben hat, präsentiert eine auf XML basierende Methode zur digitalen Archivierung von Tags und Graffiti. Mit der sogenannten Graffiti Markup Language (GML) wurde auch der im Video nach dem Break gezeigte gehackte ABB 4400-Roboter dazu gebracht, Wände mit Tags zu verzieren. Im April will Sony (vermutet weltgrößter iPhone-Dock Hersteller) wirklich auch in die letzten Winkel der Kinderzimmer mit ihren Docks vordringen. Und dafür gibt es jetzt Skins. Geschmacklose Designs zuhauf, aber die New Moon Fans unter euch sind auch wirklich selber schuld. Cleverer hätten wir ja gefunden wenn es zu jeder OS X Version das passende Trik-Fell gegeben hätte.
